Looking For Golf Swing Teaching Aids? Some Good Ideas To Help You Improve Your Swing

There are tons of golf swing teaching aids out there, which can help you get your swing into shape. Before you go on a spending spree, think about what aspect of your swing needs improvement. Understanding your personal golfing strengths and weaknesses is an important first step to getting the teaching aids you need.

Do an Internet search and you’ll see how much stuff there is out there. Here are a few ideas of the sorts of teaching aids you can buy, and what they can do for you.

Speed Radar

Speed radars use a Doppler radar to measure the speed of your ball. These small, inexpensive devices sit on the ground in front of you as you swing. Speed radars are such a useful training aid, they are used at many golf schools across the country.

With a reliable way to check you speed, you can improve the speed of your swings and set higher goals for yourself. You can also use a speed radar to see how consistent your shots are. Swing speed consistency is a really important part of your game.

Probably the most popular model is the Swing Speed Radar with Tempo Timer, endorsed by Jim McLean. They are made by Sports Sensors Inc., and retail for around $100.

Impact Labels

These are labels that you stick on your club. When you hit the ball, they’ll leave a mark where the club came into contact with the ball. These are handy for helping you see if you’re hitting the ball right or not. You can tell if you’re a little off-center.

They make different labels for different types of clubs. Impact labels are cheap and handy, and you can buy them in packs of 50 or more.

There is a similar product called “Caddy Patch” that uses a suede pad. You stick the pad to your club and it leaves an impression wherever you hit the ball. The Caddy Patch is nice because you can use it over and over again. When you’re dealing with impact labels, you end up having to throw away lots of sheets of sticky paper.

The Teaching Board

The Self Teaching Board Golf Training Aid is a versatile golf teaching tool. It is a long board that you place in front of you when you practice. It’s great for beginners who are still learning how to swing.

The Board has two sides. One side shows you how to set up the right address. It’s color coded, and it shows where your swing plane should be. The other side shows you where to put the ball and where to have your feet when you swing.

Each side has many different features, such as indicators for where to start your backswing for each club. It helps you get in the habit of getting a good, consistent address each time.

A Golf Teaching Aid You Don’t Have To Buy

Here’s a teaching aid that you probably already have in your house: A full-sized mirror. Practicing in front of a mirror is a great way to check out your stance and your swing.

Another great teaching device you may already have is a video camera. Record yourself practicing, and watch and analyze it. Pros swear by this technique. Seeing your mistakes helps you correct and change them for good.

Of course, this is only the tip of the iceberg. The best way to look for golf swing teaching aids is to surf the ‘net, then head down to your local golf shop and try some of those devices out. Don’t reach for that credit card yet; it’s always good to give it a try before you buy!

Golf Swing Eureka! Review – Good Or Bad?

After having a chance to see what the software could to for an average golfer’s game, I felt compelled to write this Golf Swing Eureka! review. Does the software really improve your game in a drastic and measurable way? Will it save you money? In this short review I will answer these questions and more, all with the ultimate goal of giving you a good idea of what you can realistically expect to get from Golf Swing Eureka! From there, you just have to look into it on your own and decide if it’s a good product for you.

How much money have you spent on your golf swing? If you’re similar to Jon Barrett, creator of Golf Swing Eureka!, you’ve spent well over $1,000. From magazines and books to instructional DVDs and professional lessons, golf is anything but a poor man’s sport. There’s a reason why golf is a billion dollar industry, I can tell you that much.

So say you’ve spent the money, maybe a little more or less than Barrett, and your golf game still isn’t where you want it to be. What next? Do you give up and quit? I wouldn’t just yet, until you’ve looked into Golf Swing Eureka! Considering 80 percent of all golfers will never achieve and handicap of less than 18, Golf Swing Eureka! might just be the software you need to get yourself into the elite 20 percent.

Golf Swing Eureka! is different than any other golfing material you’ve ever encountered. It is not a manual detailing how to swing the golf club, but it does tell you what you need to know about how the golf swing works. By understanding how the swing works, you can drastically improve your game. A book that reveals little known facts that make a huge difference in your game, Golf Swing Eureka! can teach you how to execute your golf swing like a professional.

Touted as ‘the easiest to understand format ever seen’, Golf Swing Eureka! is just what you need to cut your average round of golf by 20-30 shots or more. I highly recommend the software to golfers of all skill level, literally everyone can benefit from the knowledge it will give you.

Importance of a Good Golf Swing

As you can imagine one of the most important parts of being a successful golf player is learning exactly how to swing and hit the ball correctly. If you have a poor golf swing, it can work against you dramatically and cause you numerous problems in trying to play a successful game. While learning how to swing the club successfully may seem impossible it really is something that you can easily do with a bit of practice and a lot of patience to really continuously practice your skills.

In the beginning, it may seem virtually impossible to learn how to successfully swing the golf club. This is unfortunately due to the many different aspects of a successful swing that come into play. From the appropriate stance, to the right club to use, to even the way you hold the club and then finally the way you shift your weight there are many things that can alter your swing skills. This can often make it quite difficult to determine why you have a bad golf swing, and what you need to do in order to improve your swing.

The vast majority of people who take golf lessons tend to spend a lot of time working on ways in which they can improve their swing. This is one of the single most important skills that you need in golf. Without good swing skills, you simply cannot play a successful round of golf no matter how hard you try. This makes it highly important that you spend a lot of time learning how to improve your skills. Your first step should always be finding an instructor who is patient and makes you feel comfortable. This is essential because you need to be relaxed in order to learn the appropriate stance.

If you are working with an instructor that you do not like, you are more likely to be tense. This can cause your swing to be off, and ultimately hinder your game. Because of the comfort that you need, it is imperative that you are comfortable with your instructor so that you can relax and focus appropriately on your overall form. If you have complications mastering your golf swing you will possibly need additional sessions with your instructor so you can correct any problems you are having before you move on.

With a lot of time, some patience and a good instructor you may very well be surprised at just how quickly the other aspects of the game seem to fall into place once you have mastered your golf swing. Without a powerful swing, you are not likely to have a very successful golf game, which in essence can have the effect of making golf much less fun to play. Patience and practice to improve your overall golf swing is a very good thing to do so that you can ensure that you are making the best decision possible each time you swing at the ball. Simply swinging to swing will likely leave you very frustrated and with a very bad golf score.

You may discover that you master a perfect golf swing in a single lesson or it may take you 20 lessons to master the golf swing. Regardless of how long it takes you, this gives you a good foundation to build up and should never be rushed. If you are a natural at golf you will be able to move on much quicker, however if you have complications with your golf swing it is perfectly normal and natural that it will take a bit of additional time to master the skill. Many people when they are beginning to learn to golf spend more time perfecting their golf swing than learning any other single skill for golf. You should also expect to have this same need, after all a bad golf swing will result in poor playing skills while a good and refined swing will make you highly successful.

Tips to Selecting a Good Golf Instructor

Golf is one of the few sports that is around today that is growing rapidly in popularity and has a huge draw for numerous types of people to play. What may seem like a rather mundane sport has actually started gathering the attention of children and even middle-aged adults as well. In the past golf focused primarily around older adults, but as time has gone on, this has changed dramatically. This brings about the need for even more golf instructors that are teaching everyone to play, yet at the same time, it becomes much more important to select a good instructor. In the past when golf was not quite as popular, your options for instructors may have been limited, now you can choose exactly whom you would like to work with.

This is great news for those who are trying to decide upon the best golf instructor for their needs. If you are trying to pick your perfect golf instructor there are a few things that you should always keep in mind. The first is you need to pick someone who obviously knows what they are doing. This means you are going to need to take a bit of time to look over their credentials. Learning to play golf by playing Nintendo Wii Sports is not an acceptable answer when you ask for credentials. You would like to look for some professional or at the very least semi-professional playing experience. After all, you would ask a librarian for help in learning how to find the books you need at a library so you should follow the same theory for a golf instructor as well and choose a professional.

You want to also look for someone who makes you feel comfortable. If you do not like working with men much you would be best off finding a female instructor, however if you do now work as well with women then a male instructor is best for you. The options for golf instructors now are quite large, which gives you the freedom to really be a bit picky when you are making a decision. However, being picky will ensure that you are satisfied with the results and feel completely comfortable working with the person. In order to really learn golf successfully you are going to need to spend a bit of time working on your stance, this means you need someone who can help you relax, rather than standing always in a very tense and uptight position.

Search around if you are looking for a golf instructor and get some recommendations from the local golf courses, they can often give you some great tips about which instructors are the best and who is most likely going to be a good match for you. While you may not like their suggestion, it does give you a good place to start looking at least. In addition, you can often get good information about which instructors to avoid as well. This is highly valuable information, even if it is not quite what you were looking to get in terms of a referral. Never discount the power of a reference, this allows you to use someone else’s knowledge to make the best decision possible.

If you have been talking to a golf instructor whom you feel is a bit of an incompatible match with your personality then you should feel free to look around. Never settle for a potential instructor that you are not completely comfortable with. The results of working with a bad instructor, or even someone whom you are not comfortable with can result in you feeling as if you have learned nothing, frustrated, upset and even confused. Your time with your chosen instructor should be a positive and rewarding experience. A good instructor can have you successfully playing golf much faster than an instructor whom you are uncomfortable with, take your time selecting your instructor for the best overall experience.

Golf is a low impact sport that is normally for leisure. But playing the greens can be psychologically intensive as it can be physically demanding. Golf is normally played by professionals and executives to unwind and take time off from the hassle and bustle of the corporate world. But for some who indulge in the sport, it can be an activity where they can make or break business deals.

Golf has been a man’s game, with all that metal involved. These are the equipments that can bring out the wolf amongst the sheep. It can be the determining factor on how serious of a golfer you are. Packing in iron and wood clubs that have titanium shafts really show that you’re in the game.

Budding golfers tend to focus more on the clubs, spending time researching and reading about it before they buy, but not really giving an equal amount of importance on golf shoes. Golf shoes are there not just for the looks of it, it also has its functions. The most sellable pair can be those worn by a sports celebrity endorser because golfers only took a couple of minutes to decide what to buy. A rather uncanny way of selecting something that could help you shave a few strokes off the game.

Playing golf for 3 to 5 hours a game, walking miles and miles of uneven terrain and exposing oneself to the blazing sun can be exhausting and painful to the feet. These factors can contribute to fatigue and may alter your swing form. It is advisable to wear golf shoes that have a half inch allowance on the toes so the foot won’t be cramped inside. Wearing a pair that has a bigger allowance can tip you off form since your feet are not thoroughly fastened. Normally good golf shoes are tight on the mid and rear foot section since this is where the balance comes from. Having worn the wrong type of shoes in playing golf can lead to injury since rubber shoes that are for running and cross training can be slippery on a wet turf and may cause the golfer to slip on the follow through. Some golf courses don’t allow these shoes for it can damage the green due to its spikes.

It is important to wear golf shoes that are soft so the feet won’t get swollen after playing the full 18 holes. Another thing to consider would be if the shoes are waterproof as golf is an outdoor sport and it might rain in the middle of the game. For beginners, it can be good to wear cleats with the shoes to provide more grip to the turf for that needed balance when swinging especially if the turf is wet. But cleats can destroy the greens and the fairways so the better the golfer gets the less likely he will need the cleats.

When playing golf, there are many rules. It isn’t juat a matter of turning up to a golf course, playing a round of golf and then going home. You have to show good golf etiquette to be able to fit in with your surroundings and also to be allowed to play at the golf club.

One of the many rules of etiquette on the links is for each golfer to wear the proper golf apparel. This is one of the most important rules on the golf course. Following a strict dress code on the golf course, is something that most golf clubs and courses, even the public ones, require the golfers to do. Probably the most popular rule is the one of requesting that the golfers wear a collared shirt, although many courses also require long pants to be worn – not jeans of course – and proper golf shoes.

The primary rule of etiquette when actually hitting the links, is to show up on schedule for your tee time. It is important to be considerate of others and for you to not arrive a few minutes before tee off, still wanting to have a few practice swings on the driving range. Give yourself plenty of time, along with practice time, you will also need to find somewhere to park your car, purchase your golf balls, get changed into the correct golf apparel and collect your cart.

Cell-phones are also a big no no. Cell-phones are not part of the correct golf apparel and this should be considered before setting off on the course. They should either be left behind in your car or locker or if absolutely neccessary and needed for emergencies, should be kept in your bag, turned off.

Be sure that, when you are out on the golf course, you have a good understanding of the rules by which the other golfers want to play.

Know, in advance, whether they honor the preceding holes score, for insance, by letting the golfer with the best score tee off on the next hole, or do they let whoever is ready to tee off, go first? It is possible, if you aren’t careful, ot offend strangers, if you have decided to join their group when you play, by not playing to their rules.

Along with the plaid pants, sweater vests, flat caps and other stereotypical golf apparel, golfers are also best known for their obsession with silence on the golf course. This does, however, make sense when you are concentrating into putting everything into your swing to hit a tiny ball with a long nearrow stick. Silence is a must!

So, even if you are just playing a round of golf with your friends, make sure to observe the basic rule of keeping quiet during shots and not to stand in the shooters direct line of vision.

Follow the rules, treat others on the course as you would like to be treated and have a great enjoyable game.

I like to think we all seemed to have our heroes and greats in our early years. Growing up in front of a television had us dashing around with a sword or packing a six-shooter at our side. Depending on what we were watching at the time, whether it was in front of a television or out on some field watching a football game. We all seemed to mimic someone at one time or another. In our early years finding someone we admired as a Mentor kind of kept the spirit alive in direction and where we are today.

I often wondered back how I caught on to what some people call golf fever. Thinking back I often admired good golfers where I caddied.

How I remembered getting excited when I watched a good golfer walk towards the first tee box. Standing there in anticipation of a huge drive to follow as the golfer teed up his ball, remembering how they maneuvered the golf ball off the tee box, watching the shot rise with a steady climb as it went out into the distance. I had to figure out then and there on how they did that by grabbing a stick or a nearby branch of any length and mimicking their swing. I use to take buckets of golf balls out to the practice range to try and accomplish that remarkable hitting distance. It just made me a better golfer trying.

Names like Kendal and Nadler sparked my excitement that took me where I am today in golf. To this day, because of my admiration of their golf game back then, it fired up the enthusiasm for years of golf that followed.

The names may not have recognition to anybody else, but to me they were like a Palmer and Nicklaus as their names are to anybody today in the golf industry.

Kendal I admired because of his ability to take trees and woods out of play. His shots started out low with a steady climb upwards at about 200 yards out. His drives were so huge. I think then and there is where I caught the fever. His 5 wood took all the trees out of play. With today&’s technology, I would like to view those same shots again.

Nadler was a different type of golfer. She liked to play a low draw shot or fade shot. Her ability to move a ball in any direction was uncanny. Going up and over trees was not her game. Nadler steered her golf shots around them, like she was navigating a vehicle on an obstacle course.

Her golf game was kind of like, hit the ball just before the green and watch it bounce past a sand trap and roll in towards the flagstick. Nadler could steer the ball around sand traps, trees, and whatever obstacles that were in her way. I often thought her golf ball had eyes, because of how her golf shots would start out straight and come back in towards the flagstick. It was amazing to watch. I learned from her that a straight shot was not the only golf shot you needed to master to play good golf. Also playing the old bump and run approach is an alternative game to play, that she was a master at.

It was because of them, my enthusiasm for golf took me to a better game. I didn&’t even think about watching it on television at the time.

Sure I enjoy watching it on television today. You tend to slow down and take a more relaxed approach, or what you may call a golf couch approach at the game, as you get older. I guess the golf fever for me then, was being able to play golf like my Mentors, and there was nothing more enjoyable than actually trying to create a golf swing like theirs out on the course. I liked to think of them as Mentors, because it was them that taught me the potential thrill of playing good golf.

No matter what game of sports you play or want to learn. It could work for all walks of life. Go out and watch someone that is much better than you, and see if you can catch the excitement, to be as good, if not better. It could bring you to the top. If you’re persistent!

Clothing is important, but just because you look like a pro golfer, it does not mean that you will suddenly be ready to compete with your pros, but, in some ways, it can help your game. Proper apparel can make you look better, and make other golfers take you more seriously. It can also make the walk between holes easier, and provide you with better grounding when it comes to putting on the greens.

Golf shoes tend to have spikes on the bottom of the soles to help you maintain a good stance &’ they are designed for utility, but they are usually attractive as well, and some of them are fashionable enough to wear outside on a day to day basis, as well as keeping a pair for on the golf course.

Look Like A Pro With The Right Golf Apparel

Fashionable golfers look great as they tee up for the first time if they come out in the best apparel available. Many golfers wear short sleeved shirts with a collar in warmer weather, but the most fashionable golfers include colorful short sleeved shirts as part of their golf apparel. Other golfers wear shirts with long sleeves covered with a vest that complements. Apparel for the golf course often includes a fine jacket in case the weather is chilly or a bit of rain appears from over the horizon.

Difference courses have different requirements, but typically, acceptable golf apparel will include either long or short pants, depending on how formal the course is. Then, a smart, co-ordinated top that is comfortable for the time of year, but will not get in the way of your swing. If you are unsure of the tone of the course, it is wise to speak with other golfers to avoid embarrassment.

Gloves For Comfort and Grip

Most serious golfers use gloves to ensure a good grip on their clubs. Some golfers keep a variety of gloves that will co-ordinate with the rest of their outfits. That part is not essential, but you can be sure that gloves will make a big difference to the final score &’ especially on days when the weather is less than perfect. Gloves ares especially helpful on wet days, but are always worth it for a little extra grip and help a lot with comfort.

To conclude, you can tell a fashionable golfer by their gear, and a great golfer by their game &’ the golfers that are considered as falling into both categories pick high quality gear that gives you grip, and comfort, and that looks good with the rest of their golf apparel.

A good golf swing will not only lower your handicap, it will make the game more enjoyable. Now that you have cured your slice and can keep the ball in the fairway most of the time, you can now start working on controlling the ball. Putting the proper spin on the ball will allow you to draw or fade your shots. Drawing the golf ball causes it to hook to the left and fading the ball cause it to slice slightly to the right.

If you have worked hard to develop a good golf swing so why in the world would you want to develop a hook or slice? Most golf courses have dogleg fairways as well as complex set of obstacles that you must navigate around. One way to accomplish this is to use a draw or a fade. For a right handed player developing a draw is much harder than a fade. This is due to the natural ball spin that develops as the club face strikes right to left across the surface of the ball. The amount of spin is caused by how much the club face is open or closed as the hands release and the club face impacts the ball.

Controlling your golf swing to develop a good draw or fade requires a consistent good golf swing. Only with repeatability will you be able to confidently draw the ball on a left dogleg with your irons or hybrid. In order to develop a good draw shot you should use your normal address position, take a practice a swing to waist high through your follow through. Make sure that your arms are fully extended in line with the club shaft. As you look down the shaft your club should be pointed about 10 to 15 yards to the right of your target. If your target is obscured by trees or other obstacle then you will have to make a mental picture of your target location. Most importantly you the blade of your club should be pointing up. Move your club through to the top of your back swing. As you do so will notice that your club has to move inside around your body. This will allow you to make your swing in an inside to outside move. Taking a couple of practice swings will allow you to gain a feel for the correct motion. Now address the ball and repeat your golf swing motion. As a result you should observe a left draw to the ball in flight.

Practicing this golf swing motion on the range will allow you to develop a feel for what it takes to accomplish the draw that your desire. One additional tip to increase your draw is to lighten your left hand grip pressure through impact thereby allowing a more rapid release which will give the ball more draw spin. Another trick is to slightly close the club face to add further draw spin.

Developing a good draw shot first requires that you have developed a good golf swing that is consistent and repeatable. Only then will you be able to step up to the next level of play. Remember to plan your practice with a clear objective. To avoid confusion it is best to deal with one objective per practice session. Keep a log of your practice and include details of techniques and their results. Always start your practice session by reinforcing the skills that let you develop your good golf swing. Remember golf is supposed to be fun and the better you play golf the more enjoyable your golf game will become.
